• The cursor keys do not work.

• Although the current MPE/iX implementation of the vi command can read non-byte

stream ﬁles, it can only write byte stream ﬁles. As a result, if you edit a non-byte stream

ﬁle with vi and save it, that ﬁle is now a byte stream ﬁle. File characteristics like ﬁle

code, record size, and so forth are not preserved by this conversion.
