SDCONV performs a serial read through DATA-FILE, and chains into the FILE search item in FILE-EL-
SECOND. The value of each field is mapped to the System Dictionary according to the following:

1 ELEMENT is u sed first to create a RECORD entity if it does not exist already. When creating it,
the byte-length attribute is initialized with the value of the ELEMENT's ELEMENT-LENGTH.
Then, ELEMENT is used as the second entity of the entity list in the RECORD contains ELE-
MENT relationship. Note that if BACK-REFERENCE= OFF, then the ELEMENT entity informa-
tion retrieved from DATA-ELEMENT is used to initialize some of the relationship attributes. The
following table shows how the attributes are initialized if BACK-REFERENCE = OFF:
