Workstation Configurator — Screen and Field Definition
Control
Control
The Control screen is the fifth Workstation Configurator screen. To
select this screen, enter C in the Go to form field on the Main Menu
screen and press the
[Enter] key or press the NEXT FORM [F6] function
key from the Special Characters Screen. The screen shown in Figure
4-5 is then displayed.

Fields
The Control screen lets you configure the following information:
Initial echo. Echo allows terminal input to be echoed back to the
terminal by the computer as it is received. This field lets you turn
initial echo on or off. The value entered takes effect whenever the
terminal type is used. It occurs at speed sense or FOPEN time for the
default terminal type or when the terminal type is changed through
the FCONTROL intrinsic.
NOTE There are applications that depend on echo being off. For these
applications to function correctly, the program needs to first select the
terminal type file desired and then set echo.
