Additional DTC Conﬁguration

8 Additional DTC Conﬁguration

This chapter describes how to conﬁgure additional optional

conﬁguration parameters that are available from the DTC

Conﬁguration screen. These screens (except for Tune DTC) are only

available from a host-based conﬁguration. These additional screens

allow you to conﬁgure the following:

• Conﬁgure the DTC to use the address resolution facilities of Domain

Name Services (DNS) and IP routing. These services are only used

by Switched DTC ports when connecting to an ARPA (TCP/IP) node.

• Tune your DTC by selecting AFCP, TCP and management timers

that are appropriate for your DTC and network trafﬁc.

• Conﬁgure the parameters that deﬁne how the DTC user interface

behaves on switched DTC ports.

• Conﬁgure the DTC to act as an SNMP (Simple Network

Management Protocol) agent.

If the conﬁguration is PC-based then refer to the Using HP OpenView

DTC Manager manual.

These additional screens are accessed from the DTC Conﬁguration

screen. When the DTC Conﬁguration screen is accessed, function key

[F5], the [Next Key Labels] is available. When the [Next Key Labels] key is

pressed, another set of key labels is displayed that allows these

additional screens to be accessed. When the

[Next Key Labels] is pressed

again, the original set of function keys is displayed.
