Hangs
• hangs are usually difficult to diagnose.
• determine the scope of the hang, what is affected
• gather as much information as possible BEFORE
deciding to get a memory dump.
• if you have to reboot the system to clear a hang you
may as well get a memory dump too, time permitting
• memory dumps of hangs can be MUCH larger than
system abort memory dumps
