8 Intrinsics Reference
This chapter presents reference information pertaining to the intrinsics
discussed in this manual. Each is described using the same format as
that used in the MPE/iX Intrinsics Reference Manual; that is, each
intrinsic description does the following:
• Gives the intrinsic name.
• Describes the syntax of a call to the intrinsic.
• Summarizes the use of the intrinsic.
• Defines intrinsic parameters.
• And, where applicable:
• Explains condition codes
• Gives information on the functional return.
• Discusses any special considerations.
• Points to areas of additional discussion.
NOTE
This manual applies explicitly to the use of intrinsics in native mode
programs running on MPE/iX systems. Certain terms are therefore
given specific connotations. The term word is used to designate a 32-bit
discrete object, while halfword designates a 16-bit discrete object, and
byte designates an 8-bit discrete object.
