256-MB Cache Upgrade for the MSA 1000, SA-Cluster Storage, AND SA-5300 Series Controllers Installation Overview

1. Remove the controller from the server, as described in the Compaq Smart Array 5300 Controller User Guide.
2. Remove the heat sink (see Figure 1).
(a) Squeeze the ends of the wire clip inward .
(b) Swivel the wire clip away from the heat sink .
(c) Pull the heat sink off the controller board.
3. Release the old cache module (see Figure 2).
(a) Pull out the plastic retainer .
(b) Swivel the DIMM ejector latches outward .
4. Loosen the old cache module by pushing one of the battery packs in the direction away from the DIMM connector socket.
5. Unplug the old cache module (see Figure 3).
