Implementing Microsoft® Windows Server® 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 on HP ProLiant and Integrity servers

To upgrade to Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, complete the following steps:

1. Make sure that the server has a DVD drive (either installed or attached to the server).

2. Insert the Upgrade Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 media into the DVD drive and boot the server

to the DVD.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Integrity Support Pack

Before updating your server to Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, install the HP Integrity Support Pack

(ISP) for Windows Server 2008 on Itanium-based systems version 7.1.

Installing Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 on Itanium-based systems

To install Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, complete the following steps:

1. Install Windows Server 2008 R2. For more information, refer to the Windows Server 2008 R2

Installation Guide on the HP Smart Setup CD.

2. Install the HP 7.1 Integrity Support Pack.

3. Update the server to Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 using the Microsoft Service Pack 1 Update

package.
