Guidelines for the ProLiant WS460c G6 workstation blade with
WS460c graphics expansion blade
Before starting the installation, configure the workstation blade remote console mode to Setup Mode.
Setup Mode configures the iLO2 ATI graphics interface as the primary graphical processing unit
(GPU) and either disables the NVIDIA GPU or changes it to secondary status.
NOTE
Do not use the CAP driver in this configuration.
After the OS installation completes and Remote FX has started, configure the workstation blade remote
console mode to User Mode, which sets the NVIDIA GPU to primary status. When the NVIDIA GPU is
the primary GPU, there will not be output on the console display. Use the Remote Desktop Client to
access RemoteFX.
For information on configuring the remote console mode, see the Administrator's Guide for
Microsoft® Windows® on HP ProLiant WS460c G6 Workstation Blades with WS460c Graphics
Expansion Blades at

Manually install Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 from the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
media.
The installation process partitions and formats the workstation blade disk drive. Archive important files
before beginning the installation. The installation process deletes all files from the disk drive.
You can install Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 using two methods:
Run the installation process using devices attached to the Local I/O Cable-A USB hub (with a
keyboard, mouse, and CD/DVD drive), and a monitor.
Run the installation process using iLO 2 virtual media from your local PC.
Upgrading ProLiant servers from Windows 2008 R2 to
