Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2008 R2 with Service Pack 1 on HP Integrity Servers Release Notes v7.1

Servers HP Integrity BL860c Server Blade and BL870c Server Blade
Workaround Write down and save the controller World-Wide Number (WWN) when installing
it into the system, or obtain it from the VC manager or EFI utility. Then, manually
enter the WWN into the desired zone on the switch when configuring the zone.
Scan for targets and continue with the usual installation steps to boot from the
controller. For more information, see the HP StorageWorks Booting Windows for
Itanium-based systems from a storage area network document at http://
www.hp.com.
HP Smart Update Manager
QLogic driver does not install successfully
Issue If you have multiple QLogic cards in your system, HP SUM might not update the
driver for some of the cards.
Servers All Integrity
Workaround Run HP SUM or the particular QLogic smart component again with force install
to update the driver.
mmc.exe crash
Issue While running HP SUM, an mmc.exe application crash window might appear.
Servers All Integrity
Workaround Close the window or ignore it. HP SUM continues to run and finishes the
installation successfully.
HP SUM hangs when a folder contains double byte characters
Issue HP SUM hangs at the Inventory Progress window when it encounters double byte
characters.
Servers BL8x0c i2 Server Blade
Workaround Replace the double byte characters with single byte characters.
Long delays when HP SUM updates the NC532m NIC driver
Issue When running HP SUM, you might experience long delays while updating the
NIC components on machines with a large number of network adapters (for
example, the BL890c i2 with Flex-10 enabling 64 VLANs or more). This is because
of the enumeration of the adapters and the way the drivers are installed.
Servers All Integrity
Workaround To workaround this problem, do one of the following:
Wait for the HP SUM process to complete (might take up to 3 hours).
Kill the HP SUM process, reboot the machine, and start HP SUM again.
Manually install the NIC driver before starting HP SUM. Then, start HP SUM
again to update the remaining components in the support pack.
Installation
HP Integrity EFI driver is always ready to install.
Issue The HP Integrity EFI Driver for Windows Server2008 R2 on Itanium-based systems
is always ready to install even after it is installed. This can occur when
running HP SUM interactively from the Smart Setup CD or after you download
the Support Pack from the web and run it interactively.
