Windows nPartition Guide v5.5

Table Of Contents
1. Enter the parstatus -P command to list all nPartitions and to check the status (active or
inactive) for the nPartition you plan to delete.
NOTE: You must include the correct remote administration options when issuing nPartition
commands (-h and -g for IPMI over LAN connections; -h and -u for WBEM/WMI
connections). For a complete explanation of these options, see the command description in
“nPartition Commands Reference” (page 89).
To check the local partition number, enter the parstatus -w command.
If you are planning to delete a remote nPartition, check to see whether the remote nPartition
is inactive.
To make a remote nPartition inactive, you can perform any of the following tasks:
Log in to Windows running on the remote nPartition, and enter the shutdown
/s command.
Access the console for the remote nPartition and enter the reconfigreset
command at the EFI Shell.
Enter the RR command at the MP Command menu to reset the nPartition to a
shutdown for reconfig state.
To delete an active remote nPartition, you must use the Windows nPartition tools remote
administration options.
2. Enter the parstatus -V -p# command to display all current configuration information
related to the nPartition you plan to remove.
Save this information because you can use it to manually re-create the nPartition if necessary.
