Event Log Corrected hardware errors Issue You might receive Windows Event Log messages describing Corrected Hardware Errors for memory and processor components. These messages from the Microsoft WHEA-LOGGER service can occur several times daily on large memory configurations running under high load. Servers All Integrity Workaround These event log messages do not indicate a problem. The underlying hardware is operating correctly.
Fibre Channel Event ID 129 messages with QLogic 8 GB HBAs Issue On HP Integrity systems with QLogic 8 GB HBAs (451871-B21, AH400A, and AH401A) using version 9.1.8.17 of the driver, excessive Event ID 129 messages could result in slow system performance or a system crash. Servers All Integrity Workaround Download the 9.1.8.19 or later version of the driver from http://www.hp.com. Alternatively, you can roll back to the 9.1.7.29 version of the driver (from Smart Setup 6.

Target LUN and boot controller WWN not visible in a VC environment Issue When installing to storage attached to an Emulex LPe1105 mezzanine controller (403621-B21) in a Virtual Connect (VC) environment through a Brocade switch, the target LUN is not visible and the WWN for the boot controller is not visible in the zone in the switch administrative tool.
IPMI SEL Events New events in the System Event Log (SEL) Issue When viewing the SEL events from the MP SL viewer, you might see some new events of type DC or DD. Servers All Integrity Workaround These are informational events. When the system is booted up, a type DC event entry is generated in the SEL. When the system is gracefully shut down, one or more type DD event entries are generated in the SEL.
Windows System Event log. It generates a warning when the size is greater than 24 MB and an error when the system hive has grown to 28 MB. Download the HP Registry Monitor Agent from http://www.hp.com/ #Support. NOTE: Before upgrading a server from Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2, use the agent or provider to the verify the size of your existing system hive. 2 Installing Windows Server 2008 SP2 This chapter provides an overview of the Windows Server 2008 SP2 installation on HP Integrity servers using the HP Smart Setup CD and your licensed copy of Windows Server 2008 SP2. It is intended for system administrators with experience performing Windows installations. A more detailed description of the installation process is in the Windows Server 2008 SP2 on Integrity Servers Installation Guide located on the HP Smart Setup CD.
Reinstallation Tasks If your HP Integrity server was purchased with a factory-installed operating system, HP provides an HP Reinstallation CD, which allows you to restore the server to its factory condition if necessary.
