Event Viewer Warning 4374 message Issue You might see the WUClient Self-Update Warning 4374 message when using the event viewer. Servers All Integrity Workaround There is no problem. You can ignore this message. Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) and EFI-based Setup Utility (EBSU) I/O card firmware values display as unknown Issue The EBSU Maintain Firmware feature displays some I/O card firmware values as unknown in the Local version column.
Fibre Channel Event ID 129 messages with QLogic 8 GB HBAs Issue On HP Integrity systems with QLogic 8 GB HBAs (451871-B21, AH400A, and AH401A) using version 9.1.8.17 of the driver, excessive Event ID 129 messages could result in slow system performance or a system crash. Servers All Integrity Workaround Download the 9.1.8.19 or later version of the driver from http://www.hp.com. Alternatively, you can roll back to the 9.1.7.29 version of the driver (from Smart Setup 6.

Target LUN and boot controller WWN not visible in a VC environment Issue When installing to storage attached to an Emulex LPe1105 mezzanine controller (403621-B21) in a Virtual Connect (VC) environment through a Brocade switch, the target LUN is not visible and the WWN for the boot controller is not visible in the zone in the switch administrative tool.
Workaround Run HPSUM or the particular Qlogic smart component again with force install to update the driver. Installation Integrity PCI-express power management fix for AH400A/AH401A is always ready to install Issue The Integrity PCI-express power management fix for the AH400A and AH401A HBAs (cp009436.exe) is always “ready to install” even after it is installed.
Servers All supported Integrity servers Workaround HP does not recommend any hot replace or hot add functions for these cards in the 6.5 release.
• • Migrate to Windows Server 2008 R2. This issue is resolved in Windows Server 2008 R2. For Windows Server 2008 with SP2, HP and Microsoft have worked together to create methods of proactive notification and avoidance in case the system hive approaches its 32 MB limit. The HP Registry Monitor Agent monitors the size of the System hive and proactively notifies the user when the system hive is near the maximum limit.
2 Installing Windows Server 2008 SP2 This chapter provides an overview of the Windows Server 2008 SP2 installation on HP Integrity servers using the HP Smart Setup CD and your licensed copy of Windows Server 2008 SP2. It is intended for system administrators with experience performing Windows installations. A more detailed description of the installation process is in the Windows Server 2008 SP2 on Integrity Servers Installation Guide located on the HP Smart Setup CD.
Reinstallation Tasks If your HP Integrity server was purchased with a factory-installed operating system, HP provides an HP Reinstallation CD, which allows you to restore the server to its factory condition if necessary. HP recommends that you install the boot controller in the root cell. • Default MP/iLO settings for cell-based and entry-level servers For cell-based servers, the MP is assigned a static IP address at the factory before it ships. It is not assigned a DNS name and it is not DHCP enabled.
