23Host Attached SATA Provider
23.1 Overview
The HP Host Attached SATA provider data sheet describes host attached SATA controllers and their
attached disks. This implementation excludes externally attached SATA drives that are part of external
storage enclosures.
The following profiles are implemented, and the following files are installed by this provider:

23.2 Use cases
For use cases, see the HP Host Attached SATA Profile V1.0.0.003(P001300).
This provider implements a read-only version of the profiles referenced. Configuration functionality is
not supported by this provider. This is in accordance with the SNIA profiles because HP does not
advertise ConfigurationService type classes.
23.3 Class implementations
The following sections define the supported properties for the Host Attached SATA provider. You can
find details for each property in the Host Attached SATA Profile profile (P00130) and associated
MOF files.
23.3.1 HP_SATAPortController
HP_SATAPortController is the central class of the profile. There is one instance per HBA.
