Preinstallation requirements
Hardware requirements
The following tables list the hardware required to successfully run PMP on the analysis server, monitored servers,
and client systems.
Analysis server requirements
The analysis server hardware requirements are listed in the following table.
IMPORTANT: The analysis server and the database server must be configured for the same time zone.

Hardware component Requirement
HP ProLiant server For a list of supported ProLiant servers, refer to the HP ProLiant Essentials Performance
Management Pack Support Matrix.
System memory NOTE: For normal installations, HP recommends a minimum of 512 MB RAM.
• 192 MB RAM with Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft Database Engine (MSDE) on
the same server
• 256 MB RAM with Oracle® 9i Release 2 on the same server
• 256 MB RAM with Version Control Repository Manager installed on the same
server with SQL Server, MSDE, or Oracle 9i Release 2
• 256 MB RAM with Oracle 10g on the same server.
Disk space For Microsoft SQL Server or MSDE
• 45 MB on the Windows system drive
• 350 MB for HP SIM software
• 2 MB for the database
For Oracle 9i Release 2 (local database)
• 140 MB on the Windows system drive
• 350 MB for HP SIM software
• 2.85 GB for the database
For Oracle Database 10g Release 1 (local database)
• 140 MB on the Windows system drive
• 350 MB for HP SIM software
• 3 GB for the database
For Oracle 9i Release 2 (remote database)
• 57 MB on the Windows system drive
• 350 MB for Systems Insight Manger software
• 237 MB for the database
For Oracle Database 10g Release 1 (remote database)
• 57 MB on the Windows system drive
• 350 MB for Systems Insight Manger software
• 250 MB for the database
NOTE: The database size increases proportionally in size with information logged for Offline Analysis.

Client requirements
PMP is best viewed with a monitor resolution of 1024 x 768, 256 colors, with the browser window maximized.
