2. Enter your valid user name, password, database name, and the previous database name.
Any user of the PMP database must have a DBA privilege. While installing Oracle, the name of the
previous database is required. When you upgrade, this name requirement is automatically addressed by
the installer. When you re-install the software, you need to provide the previous database name. If you are
installing the software for the first time, then you must leave this field empty.
TIP: A temporary user name is required to install Oracle. Create a user in the Oracle database with the
same credentials as the user created in the PMP database. The temporary user must have the identical
DBA rights and password as that of the PMP database user.
3. Click Next. The Database Configuration window appears. If the installer has detected a database that was
previously installed, it prompts you if you want to retain data from that database. Specify a number in the
first drop down list and in the second drop down list, select either Day(s), Month(s) or Year(s). In addition,
you need to specify the temporary user name.
4. Follow steps 5 – 8 of the SQL database installation procedure to complete the installation procedure.
