Web-Based Enterprise Management is a Distributed Management Task
Force (DMTF) standard developed to unify the management of enterprise
computing environments. WBEM provides technology that enables
customers to monitor and control resources from diverse sources, thus
enabling increased control of their enterprise environments at lower costs.
WMI Windows Management Instrumentation
The Microsoft implementation of the WBEM standard. WMI allows you to
manage local and remote computers and models computer and network
objects using an extension of the Common Information Model (CIM)
standard.
