Fault Monitoring on Windows Integrity Servers

the agent collects information about memory, IRQ and I/O resources used, and automatic
system recovery configuration.
Individual sub-agents collect status and configuration information about system components
(for example, processor status, memory status, sensor and environmental status).
Type of Errors
The following environmental conditions are monitored and reported by Server Agent:
Temperature: over-temperature
Power subsystem: redundancy loss, voltage failure, power supply absence/presence.
Fan subsystem: redundancy loss, fan failure, fan absence/presence, fan speed.
The following system configuration information is also monitored and reported:
Cell Local Memory (CLM) settings on partitioned systems (optimal or not)
LED states
PCI controllers hot-added or hot-removed
Methodology
The Server Agent and sub-agents monitor environmental and power subsystem status by
polling sensor readings at the interval set by users (default is 2 minutes).
System configuration information is also checked at each polling interval through various
firmware channels. PCI dynamic configuration changes (OL*) are captured from Windows OS
in real time.
Output
Environmental and power subsystem status is reflected on the SMH Environmental page by
different colored icons: red (critical error), amber (warning), green (healthy), blue (unknown).
System configuration data is shown on SMH information pages, including the System Report
page.
A command line tool (“sysreport.exe”) generates a text file containing the details displayed in
an SMH System Report page.
Storage Agent Service
Storage Agent service monitors the health and status of storage devices.
The SCSI Information Agent collects fault, performance, and configuration information for HP
supported SCSI controllers and attached SCSI and Tape storage devices at a configurable
interval.
The Drive Array Information Agent collects fault, performance, and configuration information
from HP drive arrays at a configurable interval.
The Fibre Array Information Agent collects fault and configuration information from the HP
Fibre Channel Array subsystem at a configurable interval.
Currently HP Integrity storage agents monitor the following specific devices:
SCSI Controllers - U320
