8. Use the T-15 driver to remove the two screws holding the CD-ROM drive to the front of the
chassis. .
CD ROM Drive Removal
9. Side the CD ROM drive forward and out of the chassis.
NOTE The CD ROM drive connectors are keyed. Make sure they are fully seated.
Replacing the Control Panel
1. Log off all users and if necessary back-up files.
2. Follow instructions in your network operating system (NOS) documentation to gracefully shut
down all networking software and applications.
3. Press the power switch on the HP NetServer's control panel when prompted by the operating
system.
4. Disconnect the power cables.
WARNING The power supplies will continue to provide standby current to the NetServer until
the power cord(s) is/are disconnected.
5. Remove the right hand panel (top on rack version) to access the control panel cable.
6. Remove the control cable connected to the I/O board.
7. Remove the cable from the cable harness and pass the end through the opening between the
non-hot swap cage and the Hot Swap mass storage cage.
8. Use the T15 driver to remove the two screws that hold the control panel to the chassis.
