PUP Object States and SCF Object States and Substates
The SCF STATUS command displays the current state and substate of an object.
There are similarities between PUP object states and SCF object states and substates.
Table B-7 lists the PUP object states and gives the equivalent SCF object states and
substates.

(none) STARTED (none) The device is available.
D STOPPED DOWN The device is not available.
H STOPPED HARDDOWN The device was put into a hard down state
by the operator or by a hardware error.
I STOPPED INACCESSIBLE The device is inaccessible.
S SERVICING SPECIAL The device is being serviced or used by a
privileged process and is unavailable to
any user process.
