Using Online Help

The DSM/SCM online help systems supplement the information in this guide by

providing detailed technical information about the use of each interface.

Help for the Graphical User Interfaces

DSM/SCM provides help for a window or dialog box, menu commands, buttons, and

data fields. A list of help topics, index of keywords, and glossary are also available.

Searching for a Topic

To search for a topic using a keyword:

1. In any interface window, select Help>This window, or click Help in a dialog box.

The DSM/SCM Help window appears.

2. Click Search.

3. Enter the keyword; then click Show Topics.

4. Select a topic in the list; then click Go T

Viewing the Glossary

1. In any interface window, select Help>This window, or click Help in a dialog box.

The DSM/SCM Help window appears.

2. Click Glossary.

Help for the Block-Mode Interfaces

A help screen is available for each interface screen in the block-mode interfaces. The

help screen explains the actions of each function key, and provides the data formats

and restrictions for each data field on the screen and for any messages that appear. To

Window Select Help>This window.

Dialog box Click Help.

Menu topic Press the Alt key, and use the right and left arrow keys to position

the cursor on the topic; then press F1.

command

Use tab or arrow keys to position the cursor on the command;

press F1.

Button Use the tab key to highlight the button; press F1.

Data field Click anywhere in the field; press F1.

Glossary term Click a term that is underlined with dashes.
