Command Outputs
This section describes how to structure interprocess commands for use within the
Guardian operating system. Any byte that is not specified with data (an empty byte)
should be specified as a space. (See Examples of Structure.)
Mount Media Command
The Mount Media command is used to mount the specified media, by media label to a
transport. To request a specific drive,client include the Guardian name for the drive (for
example, $TAPE1) within the mount request. If no tape drive name is specified, the
tape label will be mounted in the first available drive, if any. If no drive is available, the
request is placed in a queue. For details, see Table D-2 on page D-2.
