2.3.1 Current Tape Operation
The SCSI command being executed displays on the top line of the LCD. Typical commands shown
are Read, Write, WrtFMK, Rewind, Space, and so on.

Additionally, off-line utilities use this area to display tape-drive errors. The SCSI Request Sense
command provides information about an error.
2.3.2 Total Data Transferred
Total data bytes read or written from the tape drive appear with a KB (1024), MB (1024 x 1024)
or GB (1024 x 1024 x 1024) multiplier. On the first read or write command following a rewind,
the count is set to zero.

2.3.3 Transfer Rates in Kbytes per Second
The average transfer rate between the NonStop server and the tape drive is calculated by dividing
the total data transferred by the elapsed time since the first read or write command following a
rewind or write filemark.
