Recovering from Errors
Error Recovery Procedures
Table A-1 gives error recovery instructions for errors reported on the front panel.
This list includes only those procedures that can safely perform by an operator.
Appendix C, Error Recovery Procedures and Fault Symptom Codes
includes
additional procedures that can be performed by an experienced service
technician.
Fault Symptom Codes (FSC)
Fault Symptom Codes appear in the Fault screen shown in Figure A-1. Each
FSC is accompanied by a descriptive message and instructions for clearing the
fault. If a fault persists, look up the FSC in Table A-2 and call the technical
support representative. To help identify the problem be sure to provide the FCS.

C Turn off power to the tape drive using the AC switch
on the front panel of the tape drive. Wait 30 seconds
to power on again.
D Turn off power to the tape drive and inspect
connectors and cables.
F Invalid operation. Select parameters correctly and try
again.
G Call technical support.
