SCSI Termination on the Tape Drive
Copper SCSI Cables
You can use any of the following SCSI cables:
SCSI Termination on the Tape Drive
The tape drive has two 68-pin SCSI ports and one 50-pin SCSI port. The two 68-pin
SCSI ports are located on the back left of the drive. The 50-pin SCSI port is located on
the right side of the tape drive. A terminator should only be placed on a 68 pin SCSI
port. See Figure 2-8, port 2.
The 50-Pin SCSI Port Connection
This port connects to the server by using only a fiber connection. When you use
a fiber connection, place a BEB (backend board) securely onto the port. See
Figure 2-8, port 3, and Figure 2-9.
Daisychain Configuration
The right 68-pin SCSI port is daisychained to another drive. On the next drive,
the left most port is terminated instead of being connected to the 50-pin SCSI
port. Figure 2-10 illustrates how the 68-pin SCSI ports are connected.
