Configuring the Tape Drive
This section describes how to configure the tape drive. For information on the
different menu’s featured on the tape drive, refer to Section 3, Operating the
Tape Drive.
The library (robotics) is factory set to SCSI ID 3; the tape drive is factory set to
SCSI ID 5. The drive is factory set for parity generation and checking is enabled.
Setting the SCSI ID
1. Turn the tape drive on. Wait until the power-on self-test terminates and the
default screen appears. Figure 2-3 shows the default screen for the unit,
which indicates a tape magazine with only one cartridge in slot 1.
Rectangles appear on line three on the default screen in positions that
correspond to the slots where cartridges are present.
2. At the Default screen, press Enter. The the Main menu in Figure 2-4
appears.
3. Press the down button four times to move the
cursor to Configure menu, then
press Enter. The Configure menu in Figure 2-5 appears. The arrow at the
