Microsoft Windows 2003 uses a default port range of 1025 through 5000 as the dynamic client
port range for outgoing connections. To avoid port conflicts, as part of the installation process, HP
SIM installer reserves the following ports, if it detects installation on Microsoft Windows 2003 OS.

The dynamic ports referred to in this table deal with outgoing connections for both TCP and UDP.
Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows 2008 and later
To comply with IANA recommendations, Microsoft increased the dynamic client port range for
outgoing connections in Windows Vista and in Windows Server 2008 and all of its later operating
systems and made the default port range of 49152 through 65535.
On these operating systems, to avoid port conflicts, HP SIM installer sets the following ports as
dynamic ports as part of the installation process.
