Insight Software Advisor and enabling the “Pre-Insta ll Items” option from the HP Insight Softwa re
Insta ller menu.

Be sure to insta ll any prerequisite .N ET softwa re BEFO RE continuing with the HP Insight Software
installation. Allowing the HP Insight Software Installer to install .NET software during the
installation process will restart cluster services di srupting access to the shared di sk resulting in an
unsuccessful installation.
3. Upgrade the primary system.
a. Make sure the pri mary system is running and the secondary system i s shut down.
b. Log into the primary with the same administrator credentials that you configured for
the Insight Software service account credentials.
c. Use Fa i lover Cluster Manager to take the Insight Software service offline. In this
paper, the Insight Software service is called cms-c2-hpsi m.
d. Use Fa i lover Cluster Manager to bring only the Server Name and Disk Drives
resources in the Insight Software (cms-c2-hpsim) service online on the primary.
e. Use Fa i lover Cluster Manager to verify that the SQL Server service is onli ne on the
primary.

g. Verify tha t Systems Insight Manager ha s completed its sta rtup by logging into the
Systems Insight Manager service through a client Web browser. Use the network
name specified for the Systems Insight Manager network name cluster resource. Then
log out.
h. Insta ll the new Insight Software release or products. Follow one of the 4 procedures
below depending on which type of upgrade you wish to perform:
i. Upgrade from Insight Software 6.1 Update 1 or a succeeding release to
