Introduction

The HP Insight Software media set provides an integrated installer to quickly and accurately deploy,

configure, integra te, and update HP Insight Software products. The individual components delivered

with HP Insight Softwa re 6.3 include:

• HP Insight Software Installer: A wiza rd-ba sed insta ller used to simplify the insta lla tion,

configuration, and integration of HP Insight Softwa re.

• HP Systems Insight Mana ger (SIM): Runs on the Central Management Server (CMS) to provide

unified foundation management services for HP Servers, storage, and network resources from a

single console. Systems Insight Manager delivers centralized fault configuration, inventory,

performance management, warranty details, automated service call initiation, and troubleshooting

information. Systems Insight Manager is built according to industry standards to manage HP and

non-HP infrastructure resources.

• HP BladeSystem Integrated Manager: Gra phica l user interface (GUI) used to discover, monitor, and

administer HP BladeSystem enclosures and managed components, including servers (ProLiant and

Integrity), storage, power, and cooling. This component is installed with Systems Insight Manager.

• HP Insight Remote Support Advanced: (N ot provided on the Insight Softwa re media set; link to

download is provided instead.) Remote support tool that provides remote monitoring to supplement

local monitoring of Systems Insight Manager. It also provides real-time hardware event monitoring

and secures event submission to HP Support to help identify and prevent potentially critical

problems on HP ProLiant servers, HP-UX, and Linux-based Integrity servers, and their associated

internal devices.

• HP Insight Control: HP Insight Control is essential server management software that unlocks the

ma nagement ca pa bilities built into your HP ProLia nt servers. Insight Control delivers powerful

capabilities that enable you to proactively manage ProLiant server health – whether physical or

virtual, deploy ProLiant servers quickly, improve power consumption, and control ProLiant servers

from anywhere.

– HP Insight Control power management: Provides power consumption and thermal output

monitoring to enhance data center power and cooling. Includes power regulation policies for

groups of HP ProLiant servers.
