Installing and upgrading to HP Insight Software 6.3 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Failover Cluster with SQL Server 2008 for high availability

a. In the discovery ta sk list box, select Discover HP SIM virtual server

b. Click Run Now

c. W ait for the task to complete. You might have minor errors relating to configuration items

that are not yet complete.

13. Verify the discovered virtual server configuration

a. In the left pane, click All Systems.

b. Verify that the Sy st em Name column includes entries for both the Failover Cluster

virtual server and the Systems Insight Manager virtual server. They may be represented

either by their virtual server name or, IP address.

i. The Server Type of the Failover Cluster virtual server should be Cl uster .

ii. The Server Type of the Systems Insight Manager virtual server should be

Server.

c. Verify that no system of System Type Management Processor is associated with either the

Failover Cluster virtual server or the HP SIM virtual server.

i. A management processor is so associated if its Sy stem Name entry includes

a second line that states in Server xyz, where xyz is one of the virtual

servers.

ii. If any management processor is so associated, then select it (check the

leftmost box) and click the Delete button.

14. Navigate to Options  Discove ry. Th e Systems Insight Manager discovery page appears.

15. Create a discovery task for the primary and secondary physica l servers

a. Click New… to create a new discovery task.

b. Select Discover a group of systems.

c. In the Name field enter the task na me, for example, Discover physical cluster

nodes.

d. Under Schedule, uncheck the box used to select automatic scheduling

e. In the ping inclusion range list box, enter the IP addresses of the primary and

secondary systems.

f. Click Credential.

g. Th e Sign-in ta b is selected. Under Use these credentials enter the SQ L/ IS Administra tor

account credentials, for example, domain\ username and password.

h. Uncheck the If these credentials fail box.

i. Click OK

j. Click Sa ve to complete.

16. Run the discovery ta sk just crea ted.

a. In the discovery task list box, select Discover physical cluster nodes.

b. Click Run Now.

c. W a it for the ta sk to complete. You ma y ha ve minor errors rela ting to configura tion items

tha t a re not yet complete.

17. In the left pane, click All Systems. You should see a display like the one in Fig ure 10.
