Server Manager. In the le ft pane of Server Ma na ger console, click Features.

3.5.1 software during the
insta lla tion process will restart cluster services disrupting access to the
shared disk resulting in a n unsuccessful insta lla tion. Do not insta ll .N ET 4.0
on systems running Insight Software 6.x.
4. Run Windows Update. Apply needed updates.
Validating the cluster configuration
In Failover Cluster Manager, validate the cluster configura tion a gain.
Creating a system restore point
Create a system restore point for ea ch cluster node’s boot disk and the cluster shared disks, S:, T:,
and W:. (Refer to the Stora ge section a bove.) The SAN snapclone feature can be used.
Tips on the process of installing Insight Software components
In the following sections a fresh insta ll of Insight Softwa re is performed on both cluster nodes. You will
insta ll Insight Softwa re 6 .3 on the prima ry system. Optiona lly, you ca n insta ll a n Insight Software 6.3
update immedia tely afterwards if you need to apply a n update. Then you will repeat for the
seconda ry system.
Although the insta lla tion process for Insight Softwa re on a cluster is a bit differe nt from a non-cluster
insta lla tion, you ma y find it helpful to track the sta nda rd insta lla tion process when performing the
steps below. These steps are described in section 2, Installing or upgrading HP Insight Software, of
the
HP Insight Softwa re 6.3 Insta lla tion and Config ura tion Guide

the installation process that are not covered in detail below.

Installing Insight Software components on the primary system
Installing Insight Softw are 6.3
1. Shutdown the secondary system and wait for it to complete. The Insight Software installation
process requires a reboot. If the second cluster system is active, all resources wi ll automatically
failover to that system preventing a clean installation.
