Installing Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise as a clustered service
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise provides SQL database services to Insight Management.
SP1 is recommended. Install each node sequentially. (This white paper documents the Add Node
alternative for installing SQL server 2008 R2, the simpler choice for a two-node cluster. The other
option is called Advanced/Enterprise installation.)
SP1 for SQL Server 2008 R2 is recommended. In the following method, SP1 is applied after installing
the original release. Alternatively, you may create or use a slipstream distribution that includes SP1.
Alternative method for launching the SQL Server 2008 R2 installer
HP encountered an installation difficulty, documented by Microsoft as Error message when you install
SQL Server 2008 R2 on a Windows Server 2008-based cluster: “The cluster either has not been
