HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager Overview

HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager (VCEM) version 6.3 centralizes network connection

management and workload mobility for HP BladeSystem servers that use Virtual Connect to access

local area networks (LANs), storage area networks (SANs), and converged network environments.

VCEM helps organizations to increase productivity, respond faster to workload and infrastructure

changes, and reduce operating costs.

IMPORTANT: For compatibility and correct VCEM operation, the HP Virtual Connect Manager

and associated firmware on all managed domains must be versions 2.1x, or later. For more

Enhancements

HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager 6.3 adds new features plus support for the latest Virtual

Connect hardware and firmware, which includes:

• Virtual Connect firmware compatibility and feature support for 3.15 and 3.17

• New Virtual Connect profile functionality for FCoE connections

• Extended CLI ( profile and bay operations)

• Exporting VC Domain profiles between VC Domain Groups

• Multiple server profile Creation

• Leaving multiple server profiles unassigned (up to 50 server profiles)

• Automatically resynchronize mismatched VC Domains

• Support for VCEM 6.3 installations on a new server or updates to existing installations of

VCEM 1.20 through 6.2

Prerequisites

VCEM 6.3 can be installed as a new console or used to update existing installations of VCEM

1.20, 1.3x, 1.40, 6.0,6.1 or 6.2, and is delivered on Insight Software media 6.3 which can be

downloaded from http://www.hp.com/go/vcem.
