HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager 6.2 Release Notes

Resolving removal of the last VC Domain from a VC Domain Group
If existing unassigned profiles targeted to be deleted from a VC Domain Group reaches 1600
addresses (MAC or WWN) and the last VC Domain has lost connection with VCEM, the last
domain will not be deleted. Select one of the following options to resolve this situation:
Reestablish the VC Domain connection and try to remove the last VC Domain from VC
Domain Group again.
Delete the remaining unassigned server profiles from the VC Domain Group and then
remove the last VC Domain from the VC Domain Group.
Reinstalling Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager
If you attempt to remove an existing installation of VCEM and reinstall the same version or a
later version, you might see the following error message:
Failed to install Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager MAC/WWN database
tables
To resolve this situation, reinstall VCEM again because although the first reinstall attempt failed,
the registry keys causing the problem are removed with the second installation attempt.
VC Domain Groups and VC Domain Management
At times the network port speed configured as 10 Gb on a VC Domain that supports 10 Gb
incorrectly displays as Auto on a VC Domain that does not support 10 Gb.
This situation occurs when the Virtual Connect Manager user interface on the VC Domain
without the SFP-SR connector displays the network speed as Auto.
The Auto value appears only on the Virtual Connect Manager user interface. When VCEM
attempts to capture the network configuration from Virtual Connect Manager, the information
returned is 10Gb and not Auto.
To resolve this issue:
1. Access the Virtual Connect Manager user interface on the VC Domain that does not
have the SFP-SR connector.
2. Edit the network with the incorrectly labeled Auto port speed to use another port speed
value (for example, 1 Gb).
3. Save the edits.
4. Edit the network again, and set the port speed to Auto.
Since the publication of the HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager User Guide, the following
changes have been made to the "Virtual Connect 2.3x features that must be disabled in a VC
Domain to be part of the VC Domain Group with Virtual Connect firmware 2.1x" section:
— Enhanced SNMP configuration is not supported bullet, Step 2, substep d: To enable
trap severities, from the Add a SNMP Trap Destination page, the left side must be
empty.
Enhanced SNMP configuration is not supported bullet, Step 2, substep e: Trap categories
must equal Other for either VC-Enet traps or VC-FC traps. Do not select both.
From the Add a SNMP Trap Destination page select either of the following:
On the VC-Enet Traps box, select Other.
On the VC-FC Traps box, select Other.
— Enhanced SNMP configuration is not supported bullet, Step 2, Step 2, substep f must
now read, "To disable Virtual Connect Manager traps, from the Add a SNMP Trap
Destination page, ensure that the right side is empty."
