into HP ProLiant servers. Insight Control delivers powerful capabilities that enable you to proactively
manage ProLiant server health either physical or virtual deployed, migrate servers quickly, optimize

and power consumption, and control ProLiant servers from anywhere.


servers you must
purchase

redeem
,
deploy
, and
support
licenses.

icensing process for other HP platforms and products may differ. Target audience
of
this paper
is
HP customers, HP presales and sales organizations, and HP partners and resellers.
The Insight Software Licensing Process is
described as follows:

Purchase
:
During the purchase step
,
you
purchase an HP Insight Control, iLO Advanced or HP
Insight Dynamics product.
As a result, you receive
a license entitlement.
The license entitlement
can
be in
the
form of email (electronic deliv
ery) or an entitlement certificate (physical delivery).
You
receive
a license entitlement that
must be
redeem
ed
and process
ed
further.

Redeem
:
During the redeem
step,
you register the
software purchases on Webware
(
HP's software
license registration and
s
oftware activation
key delivery system in use today for Insight Software
and many other HP Enterprise Business software products
).
Registering
software purchases
results in
the
creation of
licenses and objects needed to deploy the licenses such as license
keys.
Registering
also triggers
the
creation of contracts for any software support bundled with the purchased
software. The input of
registering
is an email from HP, or an entitlement certificate (physical
delivery) and the output is an XML license file

at
includes software license keys.
You
are required
to use the entitlement/license that HP ships and
then register the software purchase to
g
et a
software license key or a file of keys to unlock the software and make it available for use
.

Deploy
:
During th
e deployment
step,
you
configure Insight Software licenses using the Managed
System Set
-
up Wizard
or
License Manager
in
HP Systems Insight Manager.
The input of this step is
the XML license file created in previous the step and the result is a licensed
server.
