Introduction HP Insight Software products help you unlock your infrastructure’s potential with HP’s easy-to-use integrated server management software. It consists of four major components:  HP Insight Foundation delivers an easy-to-use set of tools engineered to address any set-up scenario for HP ProLiant servers. The Insight Foundation Suite contains the software you need to install, configure and manage ProLiant servers.

Each single license kit results in a unique key good for one use of the software product. Flexible Quantity Packs For the flexible quantity pack, part number, you order the number of licenses you want.

E-Delivery: Look for an e-mail received from HP, which is similar to the figure below. If you did not receive it, be sure to check the e-mail account inbox of the e-mail address that was included in the order.

Figure 3: Signing-In for E-Delivery Click the Get Licensing tab. Click the product in the list you want. If the product has an Entitlement Certificate available, you can click Get Entitlement Certificate to obtain a copy for your records. Otherwise, Click Get License.

Figure 4: E-Delivery Get Licensing At this point, skip to the section Redeem Your E-Delivery and/or Physical Product: Physical Delivery: An entitlement certificate is packaged in your shipment. It is inside an envelope that is marked accordingly. The Entitlement Order Number or HP Order Number is needed from your certificate to perform redemption. The figure below shows order numbers designated by red arrows.

Figure 7: Webware Sign-In Redeem Your E-Delivery and/or Physical Product: Whichever the purchase choice, E-Delivery or physical, select the product and, if applicable, enter the quantity of licenses to be redeemed. For some entitlements, all the licenses that apply must be redeemed, which is typically the case for 1-server, 8-server, and 16-server (preset count) types of entitlements. Flexible quantity and E-Delivery entitlements allow the choice of how many licenses purchased that is to be redeemed.

Figure 8: Webware product Selection The license and registration certificates are displayed. License activation keys are seen on each certificate, and they are used for deploying licenses, as described in the Deploy Licenses section. In the case of Insight Control Server Deployment, the .LIC file, which is required for input into the Deployment Console, is accessed through a link on the final license certificate screen as indicated by the green arrow in the figure below.

MSSW – Managed System Set-up Wizard MSSW (Managed System set-up Wizard) is a feature of HP Systems Insight Manager 6.

The Managed System Set-up Wizard introduction step is illustrated in the following figure. Figure 11: Managed System Set-up Wizard By clicking Next in the screen illustrated above, the Select Features screen appears. The Select Features screen is used to select the functionality that is applied to the managed systems.

Figure 12: Select Features Example Assume you want to configure and use Power Management of Insight Control, and Insight Dynamics. To do this, select Insight Control and click the “+” icon to expand the Insight Control functionality list and select power management. Select Insight Dynamics in the screen illustrated in the above figure. The first steps of MSSW are to validate that all agents needed for the functionality selected have been applied and the necessary configuration tests are complete.

Figure 13: Select Licenses On the Add Licenses screen, specify a file name and select the license xml file you received during the redemption process. Click Process… and a list of licenses contained in the xml license file are displayed. Select the product licenses to be added to the listing table and then click Add Licenses Now. The licenses are imported into the CMS. The wizard is updated and ultimately the red text disappears. Note: Beginning with Insight software 6.

Figure 14: License Manager Reporting Basic reporting can be done by selecting License Manager within HP Systems Insight Manager, selecting a product, and then selecting to view the list of currently licensed systems. HP Systems Insight Manager offers a set of predefined reports based on the latest industry standards. There are two reports that provide licensing information.

Three OS-based utilities are updated for iLO3. All three utilities are version 3.0 and they are easy to remember. iLO 3 needs version 3.0 of the utilities, and Version 3.0 supports iLO and iLO 2.
