For HP Insight Control and HP Matrix OE, the source version of 5.3.1 maps to HP Insight Control or HP Matrix OE version

From 6.3, the migration utility supports using the source CMS’s hostname/ IP address for the target CMS, whether the

source/target CMSs are the same system or different systems.

However, HP recommends using a different system for the target CMS.

Before using the source CMS’s hostname/IP address for the target CMS, remove the source CMS from the network to

avoid conflict.

Note: Migration is supported only if the source CMS and target CMS operating systems are within same locale.

Migration from the source CMS (HPSIM + VCEM 6.3.x or 7.0.x) to the target CMS (HPSIM +

VCEM 7.3):

While migrating from the source CMS (HPSIM + VCEM 6.3.x or 7.0.x) to the target CMS (HPSIM + VCEM 7.3), if the target

CMS’s VCEM table named “VCEM_VCBAYGROUPORDERING” is populated with data, then that data must be deleted from

the table before starting the import operation in the target CMS.

Before importing, ensure no “VCEM Domain Group” exists. If needed, delete the “VCEM Domain Group” using the

following steps. (

HP SIM→Tools→Integrated Consoles→Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager (VCEM))

To delete a VC Domain Group:

1. Click the VC Domain Groups tab. The VC Domain Groups page appears.

2. Select the VC Domain Groups to be deleted.

3. Click Delete. The Delete VC Domain Group page appears.

Valid scenario: If the source CMS had Windows 2003 with the Chinese locale as the operating system, then the target CMS

must be installed with the Chinese locale. During migration both the source CMS and target CMS operating system locale

must be in Chinese.

Invalid scenario: If the source CMS had Windows 2003 with the Chinese locale as the operating system and the target

CMS is installed with the English locale, then migration is not supported. Even if the target CMS locale is later changed to

Chinese, migration is not supported.
