Note: When selectively migrating, ensure the components selected for migration are installed in the target CMS.
Step 14: Acquiring a new CA certificate for the target CMS
If the source CMS had a CA-signed certificate, and if the source CMS/target CMS are two different
servers with different names/IP addresses, then request a new CA certificate from a certificate
authority (CA).
Steps to acquire a new CA certificate and import:
1. Go to option>>security>>HP Systems Insight Manager Certificate.
2. Click on import.
3. Click on more in first line
4. Click on create button to generate CSR.
5. Save the file.
6. Send this file to CA for signing
Send request to CA server:
a. Open http://<CA_Server_IP>/certsrv
b. Click on Request a certificate.
c. Click on advanced certificate request.
d. Open CSR file in notepad and copy all the content in first text box.
e. Click on submit.
f. After CA issues the certificate you can go to same URL
(
http://<CA_Server_IP>/certsrv) again.
g. Click on View the status of a pending certificate request.
h. Click on Saved-Request Certificate
i. Select “Base 64 encoded”.
j. Download certificate and Download certificate chain and save these.
k. Export CA certificate from the certificate chain you have downloaded from
Download certificate chain link.
7. Now you have certificates signed by CA and CA certificate as well.
8. Install CA certificate on your target CMS setup as “Trusted Root CA”.
9. Import CA certificate in SIM as Trusted Certificates via option>>security>>Credentials>>
Trusted Systems>> Trusted Certificates
10. Go to options>>security>>HP Systems Insight Manager Certificate.
11. Click on import.
