For virtual machine deployment, Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x86 or x64 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008
x86 or x64 can be deployed to a virtual machine created within one of the supported virtualization hosts, VMware ESX
3i, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V x86/x64, or Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V.
2
Support notations in this column apply only to the shutdown action of DCPC.
3
Matrix recovery management does not support failover of any Hypervisor hosts.
4
Physical disks with multiple partitions are unsupported on Hyper-V unless all partitions except the first are excluded.
5
Matrix recovery management supports only VMware ESX VM guests, standalone Hyper-V VM guests, and clustered
Microsoft Hyper-V 2008 R2 VM guests on CSV .
For bidirectional failover configuration, you must install a Microsoft hot fix available at http://support.microsoft.com/?
id=2720218
6
Matrix infrastructure orchestration supports provisioning a Linux VM on Hyper-V, but IO does not personalize the VM.
After provisioning, you must personalize the Linux VM. See the HP Matrix Operating Environment Infrastructure
Orchestration User Guide for more information.
7
VMware ESX and ESXi are not supported on ProLiant DL120 G7 and ML110 G7 servers.
8
VMware ESXi cannot be deployed through Matrix infrastructure orchestration. VMware ESXi can be manually deployed
through Insight Control server deployment.
9
SIM will not install management agents on ESXi 5.
10
VMware ESXi 5.0 and later can be deployed through Matrix infrastructure orchestration using VMware Auto Deploy.
Alternatively, VMware ESXi 5.0 and later can be manually deployed through Insight Control server deployment.

HP Matrix Operating Environment infrastructure orchestration enables VMware vNetwork Distributed
Switch (vDS) virtual switches in an ESX data center to be used without any limitation. For more
information, see the HP Matrix Operating Environment Infrastructure Orchestration User Guide.
Table 49 (page 50) lists the Matrix OE software requirements and restrictions for Integrity virtual
machine (VM) hosts that are running a supported HP-UX OS. For more information, see the HP
