PXE server
If you use a PXE server, the PXE account information has to be updated in each PXE configuration for
access to the eXpress share. To make this change, complete the following steps.
1. In the Deployment Server console, select Tools from the menu and choose the PXE configuration
utility.
2. Highlight a PXE configuration and click Edit.
3. To enter the PXE configuration wizard, click Edit Boot Image.
4. To start at step 1 of the wizard, click Edit at the bottom of the window.
5. Click through each screen until the screen appears that requests the User Name and Password
entries.
6. Enter the new password.
7. Continue clicking through each screen to the end of the PXE configuration wizard.
8. To save the updated configuration to the PXE server(s), click Save in the main PXE configuration
window.
Embedded BootWorks configurations
1. In the Deployment Server console, select the Boot Disk Creator utility from the Tools menu.
2. Right click on the configuration and select New configuration.
3. To start step 1 of the wizard, open a Boot disk creator window.
4. Enter the name for the configuration, select the pre boot operating systems for the configuration,
and select all OEM extensions from the drop down box.
5. Click to the screen that requests the User Name and Password.
6. Enter the new password. [Step 5 of 7]
7. Continue clicking through each screen to the end of the Boot disk create configuration wizard and
then click Finish.
8. Open the Create boot disk wizard to start at step 1. Select the type of boot disk to create from the
Embeded Bootworks configuration and then click Next.
9. Open the Boot disk media type window. Select the boot media type, the boot task type, provide
the path, and select the Boot media processor type. Click Next. The Automation Boot disk is
created and the boot disk creation completes.
Note
The embedded BootWorks password is encrypted and cannot be changed.
You must remove the embedded BootWorks partition, re-create a new
password, and then re-deploy the password.
If the Altiris Deployment Server Data Manager/DB Management services does not start, right-click on
the services, choose Properties, and then the Log On tab to make account password changes.
Add/remove users from domains
You can set the account used to add/remove users from domains automatically. This account does not
control access to the console and it does not change any accounts set in individual jobs.
