Backing up and Restoring HP Insight Management 7.0 Central Management Server (Windows)
93
The mxsync tool fails if lsmanalyzer cannot communicate with HP Storage Provisioning
Manager. This can occur if the certificates between Matrix OE and SPM get out of sync after
the restore. In this case the lsmanalyzer tool tries to create the MatrixServce1 account but
fails because the account already exists.
Here is an example of the mxsync output when lsmanalyzer cannot communicate with
the HP Storage Provisioning Manager:
If you run lsmanalyzer from the command prompt, you will see the following error:
Workaround The mxsync command prevents the Administrator from exiting the Logical
servers and associated SAN-based storage phase until it can complete each step without
error. To complete mxsync successfully, you will need to remove the MatrixService1
account from SPM so that it can be re-added next time the lsmanalyzer runs. Follow
these steps:
1. Open another command prompt window to enter the following command from the
<SPM>\bin folder:
spmadmin.exe /rcu MatrixService1
2. Respond ”y” at the mxsync prompt asking if you would like to repeat this phase.
3. Complete the remaining synchronization sections and phases of mxsync.
