Backing up and Restoring HP Insight Management 7.0 Central Management Server (Windows)

35
Note:
After resynchronization is complete, HP recommends performing a
planned failover/failback to verify the recovery management
configuration.
10. If any managed nodes were configured with the Managed System Setup Wizard
(MSSW) after the backup was taken, you need to re-configure those nodes by
manually running MSSW after the restore with the same set of features and options.
Configuration actions that were performed directly on the managed node need not
be redone, but configuration actions done on the CMS may need to be redone. The
MSSW Analysis step will determine which configuration actions must be redone and
which do not. Even if no configuration actions need to be performed, you still need to
complete MSSW; this will ensure that MSSW saves the configuration feature and option
settings for future use.
11. If using HP Storage Provisioning Manager, you may need to perform the following
manual steps to resynchronize SPM volumes and services.
a. Recreate/delete/update services provisioned through SPM GUI since the
backup was taken.
i. Use Manually Assign Volume to assign the correct volume to a recreated
service.
ii. Remove the Quarantine volume property on volumes assigned to a
recreated service.
b. Examine volumes with the Quarantine property set to determine proper fix.
i. Display Quarantine volumes by selecting volumes from the left panel,
then sort on the Quarantine column.
ii. For each non-conforming Quarantine volume assigned to a service:
1. If service is not up to date, update the properties of the
associated LSM SPE.
2. The now-conforming volume can have its Quarantine property
removed in the volume properties.
iii. For each Quarantine volume that is not assigned to a service:
1. If the volume is not in use, remove the Quarantine property from
the volume.
2. For any volume still in Quarantine, you will need to determine
whether the volume is safe to be offered as an available volume
and have automation performed on it. When it is safe, the
Quarantine property should be removed from the volume.
12. Most changes made after the backup need to be manually re-entered. Examples
include, but are not limited to, adding or deleting a logical server, storage pool entries,
or infrastructure orchestration services, adding an unmasked volume to a storage pool
entry, network configuration changes, storage configuration changes, adding or
removing VC Domain or VC Domain Groups, license changes, monitored workload
definition changes, and user preference changes.
