• To connect to the RAID Manager on a remote UNIX Host, enter one of the following:
◦ HORCMINST=X@Host-name, which connects to HORCMINST=X on the Remote
UNIX Host.
◦ $HORCMINST@Host-name, which connects the $HORCMINST setting to the Remote
Login Environment on a UNIX Host.
NOTE: If the array is set as the authentication mode, the remote user must have
completed the authentication for its array.
If no root user is needed to use telnet, then a user needs to have permissions to use RAID
Manager commands (Refer to the section 10.5 on RAID Manager, Basic Specifications).
You will also have to make a /dev/null file for the user in SRAVer in 01.02.03 or
later.
If the remote host is SUSE Linux, which does not recognize network as a terminal type,
you must set the following variables:
setx RMSRA_TEL_WAITS "/terminal type\? /i" /m
setx RMSRA_TEL_RESPS vt100 /m
4. For an RMSRA20 configuration using local connection, enter the HORCM instance to connect
to RAID Manager instance via RMSRA20. specifying the following formats (see Figure 21 (page
34)):
