The AC power re

quirements are essentially the same for both the primary and the second racks. Each

rack o p erates on 200 VAC nomina l, 20 amps, 50 or 60 H z, s ing le-phase power. An independent

branch circuitandacircuit breakerare required foreachACinput power cord.

208VAC is 60 Hz only. 220 VACand 240VAC are50 Hzonly. Ratedlinecurrent perpower cord is

the

maximum allowable current under worst case conditions. This value applies to each individual power

cord and is

speciﬁed in RMS amperes. For the second rack, four power cords and circuit breakers are

strongly recommended even though a minimum conﬁg uration containing only one expansion disk chassis

requires only t wo power cords and two circuit breakers. If a second expansion disk chassis is added to

the

second rack, four power cords and four circuit breakers a re required.

AC inputs

The disk array primary rack has four separate connections to 200 VAC, single-phase, 20-amp power.

The AC power inputs to the primary rack are distributed to four power distribution units (PDUs) as shown

in the

following ﬁgures. This provides fault tolerant operation of the disk array. Each pair of AC inputs

must be capable of supporting the entire current demand for the cabinet. Each PDU is ﬁtted with an

IEC320-C20 inlet that ﬁts the supplied input power cord.
