Prerequisites
• Two servers with VMware Site Recovery Manager (one for the protected site and one for the
recovery site)
• The following licenses must be installed on the local (protected) and remote (recovery) P9000
and XP disk arrays:
At least one of the following XP disk array remote replication programs:
◦ HP XP P9000 Continuous Access Synchronous
◦ HP XP P9000 Continuous Access Asynchronous
◦ HP XP P9000 Continuous Access Journal
At least one of the following P9000 disk array remote replication programs:
◦ HP XP P9000 Continuous Access Synchronous
◦ HP XP P9000 Continuous Access Journal
and the following programs:
◦ HP XP P9000 Business Copy or XP Business Copy (optional)
◦ HP XP P9000 RAID Manager 1.24.16 and later
◦ VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) 1.0 and later
NOTE: For Windows 2003/2008, the EventLog, vpxp, and vmware-dr services must be set to
Automatic.
Installation instructions
Install the adapter on both the local (protected) server and the remote (recovery) SRM server. For
instructions, see the HP XP P9000 Storage Replication Adapter 2.0 Administrative Guide.
NOTE: After installing, you must restart the VMware Site Recovery Manager Service on the protected
server and the recovery server.
