Figure 25 Configure the virtualization adapter with a remote Telnet connection
To connect to the RAID Manager on a remote UNIX host enter one of the following
commands:
HORCMINST=X@Host-name, which connects to HORCMINST=X on the remote
UNIX host.
$HORCMINST@Host-name, which connects the $HORCMINST setting to the
Remote Login Environment on the remote UNIX host.
NOTE: If the array is set as the authentication mode, the remote user must have
completed the authentication for its array.
If no root user is needed to use telnet, then a user needs to have permissions to use RAID
Manager commands (Refer to the section 10.5 on RAID Manager, Basic Specifications).
You will also have to make a /dev/null file for the user in SRAVer in 01.02.03 or
later.
If the remote host is SUSE Linux, which does not recognize network as a terminal type,
you must set the following variables.
setx RMSRA_TEL_WAITS "/terminal type\? /i" /m
setx RMSRA_TEL_RESPS vt100 /m
