XP24000 Disk Array
The objective of a site prep is to prepare your site for the successful and timely installation of this HP
product. Proper site preparation is vital for the reliability of the disk array.
Site preparation involves a careful balance of equipment design criteria, site environmental variables,
your business needs, and your budget constraints.
In addition to this guide, other site prep resources may be available to you. The HP service organization
is committed to making sure you receive maximum benefit from your disk array. HP representatives
will guide and assist you throughout the site preparation process.
The site prep team
The site prep team plans, schedules, and completes all tasks necessary to prepare your site for
successful system installation.
The site prep team consists of HP representatives and you, the customer.
HP representatives
The HP team includes various HP representatives who have the training, knowledge, experience,
tools, and parts required to install and maintain HP XP disk arrays. This team does the following:
• Helps you to determine and implement the site requirements for your specific site and array
configuration
• Coordinates all HP resources to ensure successful delivery and installation of the disk array
Your HP Sales Representative (SR) is your primary contact with HP during the site preparation process.
Other HP representatives include the HP Customer Engineer (CE), who assists with disk array installation
and maintenance, and the HP Application Software Engineer (ASE), who assists with disk array
software installation and configuration.
Customer
As part of the site prep team, your responsibilities include planning and preparing a suitable
environment for the disk array, and scheduling equipment delivery and installation. HP representatives
are available to help you throughout the site preparation process. Your internal site team may include
personnel specializing in your site computer room, such as your storage administrator and your site
electrician.
