A basic XP20000 configuration consists of the following components:
• One 19-inch, HP 10000 G 2 42U rack model 10642 G2 (empty)
• One disk controller with control panel and SVP blade PC
• Channel adapters, disk adapters, cache and sha red memory, one disk chassis (RO)
• Disks
• Power supplies, power distribution units (PDUs), backup batteries, power cords, and cabling
Adding storage
You can expand the disk array in the primary rack as follows:
• Add one 60-disk chassis (R1) to the top space of the primary rack. This provides a total of
120
drives.
You can add a second 19-inch rack with additional disk units as follows:
• Add one 60-disk chassis (R2) to the second rack for a total of 180 drives
• Addasecond60-disk chassis(R3)tothe second rack fora totalof 240 drives
Your HP suppor t representative can add disk chassis and disk drives online with no interruptions to
applications or hosts. Additional details about each rack follow.
TIP XP components are installed without sliding rails in the XP200 00 rack assembly, so the rack does
not
require stabilizers. If you install other equipment in the rack, you must consider adding stabilizers. For
