5 Troubleshooting
This chapter provides error codes, troubleshooting guidelines and customer support contact information.
Troubleshooting
The storage system provides continuous data availability and is not expected to fail in any way that
would prevent access to user data. The READY LED on the control panel must be ON when the storage
system is operating online.
The following table lists potential error conditions and provides recommended actions for resolving
each condition. If you are unable to resolve an error condition, contact your HP support representative.

Determine the type of error (see the SIM codes). If possible, remove the cause
of the error. If you cannot correct the error condition, call your HP support
representative for assistance.

Determine if there is a failed storage path. If so, toggle the RESTART switch,
and retry the operation. If the fence message is displayed again, call your

there is no power supplied.

Pull the emergency power-off (EPO) switch. You must call HP to have the
EPO switch reset.

If there is an obvious temperature problem in the area, power down the
storage system (call your HP support representative for assistance), lower
ALARM LED is on.
