In fabric environments, the port addresses are assigned automatically.
Fabric and connection parameter settings
Set each array port to FABRIC ENABLE with connections of POINT-TO-POINT (P-to-P). For detailed
topology information, refer to the HP StorageWorks SAN Design Reference Guide.
Installing and configuring the host
Loading the operating system and software
Follow the manufacturer's instructions to load the operating system and software onto the host and
load all OS patches.
Installing and configuring the HBAs
Install and configure the host bus adapters using the instructions included in the server's documentation.
Using wwidmgr (AlphaServers only)
Verify FC HBA installation and set fabric mode by using wwidmgr:
1. P00 >>> set mode diagnostic (AlphaServer 8 x 00/GS60E only)
2. P00 >>> wwidmgr -show adapter
The list of adapters is displayed.

3. P00 >>> wwidmgr -set adapter -item xxxx -topology fabric (where -item
xxxx is the item number of the desired HBA taken from the list generated in step 2)
This sets the HBA for the required fabric mode.
NOTE:
An item number of 9999 sets the specified topology on all HBAs in the system.
